Meet the teachers
Katie – Owner/Operator
My name is Katie Blaney. I live in Scotochlake N.B. with my husband Chris Blaney and our two beautiful children Will and Charlye, oh let’s not forget our little fur baby Koda . I have a huge passion for spending time with my family, extended family and friends! You will often find me outside soaking up the sun, wheeling, kayaking, snowmobiling, camping or looking for a new project to take at. I, along with the rest of my family, love being busy! I believe this is what lead me to a career in childcare. I have been working with children since the age of 18. I have attended countless workshops, training courses, and completed training on the New Brunswick curriculum. I also have experience working with children with special needs, teaching preschool and teaching after school. I had the privilege of administrating a large childcare center for two years and for the past eight years owning and operating my own childcare center. I love having the opportunity to guide and teach little minds. There is no better feeling than knowing you have helped to brighten a child’s day and seeing their faces and expressions while they experience and learn new things.
I opened Katie Bee’s when my son Will was eight months old, I wanted to stay home and spend time with him, while at the same time I was missing teaching in the classroom. So I decided to do both and I have never looked back! I love that I now have the opportunity to be a part of each classroom at Katie Bee’s and work with children of all ages, while at the same time getting to know the families in our wonderful community.
The past 17 years working with children has been amazing and I look forward to many more years in this field.

Sarah
Hello my name is Sarah Dykeman. I grew up in Fredericton and then moved to the country with my husband where we have built a life that I love with our beautiful daughter and pets.
I graduated with my human service counselling degree and worked with special needs individuals until I started my early childhood career teaching babies in a daycare in Fredericton. Five years later my best friend opened Katie Bees Children Center and I was Ecstatic to take the position as the baby teacher. Last year after 10 years of teaching the babies I switched to teaching the four year old preschool and I am loving every minute of this new adventure. I enjoy getting to watch the kiddios discover, succeed, and learn new skills as well as building a friendship with every child in my class, they truly become part of my heart. I’m looking forward to applying new found knowledge to my career while I take the Early Childhood Education program in the fall.
When I’m not working and playing hard with kiddios at the daycare you can find me with my daughter and husband cruising through the woods in a Jeep ,listening to music especially Michael Jackson , walking through woods and enjoying my new love for exercise .

Hello, my name is Amanda Ouellette and I am a proud mama of two beautiful children. Tyler is 11 and Breanna is 8. They are my whole world along with her father and my husband of 17 years. I have devoted most of my life to working with children. My parents inspired my love for children 30 years ago when they first became foster parents. For that reason I pursued a job in childcare. I have been working at Katie Bee's children center for five years and it has been the best career change I’ve ever made! I just graduated from Atlantic Business College in June of 2018, with a diploma in early childhood education. When I'm not teaching and playing at Katie bees, I'm out doing things with my family like fishing, hunting, wheeling or just having a movie night with my kids

Hi my name is Sondra Dube. I am 30 years old, but forever 29 ha-ha! I am a mother to my 9 year old son Hunter and to our two pups Dodger & Gunner. I enjoy our peaceful life in the country. I started working at Katie Bee's in spring of May 2015. I have a passion for teaching children I originally taught preschool and after school and then found a new love for the little ones and currently teach the 2 year olds. I'm looking forward to expanding my experience and knowledge with children by taking my ECE in the fall. When not teaching little ones I enjoy going out hunting and 4-wheeling with my family.

Hi my name is Brittany. I’m 25 years old. I’ve had the opportunity to be a teacher at Katie Bees for a little over 2 years. I live in Scotchlake with my boyfriend and our 2 fur babies, Gunner & Remi. I enjoy exploring the outdoors whether on foot or 4 wheels. I am very family oriented. I have 2 much younger siblings who I spend a lot of my spare time with. I have worked with all age groups under 5 and enjoy them all equally. I graduated high school in 2010 and from Eastern College 2 years later where I took a Vet Admin Assistant course. Most recently I graduated with my Early Childhood Education from Atlantic Business College.

Hi, my name is Ashley Anderson. I am 29 years young. I live in Hainesville with my husband Mack and our two sons, Trenton and Wyatt. Trenton is 11 years old and Wyatt is 4. We have two kitties, Peanut and Big Kitty. I enjoy going to our camp in Allandale, kayaking, fishing, four wheeling and we also spend a lot of time in the winter watching our oldest play hockey. I am excited that you have chosen Katie Bees to bring your little ones for us all to watch grow. This is my first experience being in my own classroom and I am very excited! I attending and graduated from NBCC in 2013 with my Human Services degree. I then went on to St. Thomas University to Major in Psychology and Criminology. I am not finished my majors yet but hopefully will be in the future. I took some time off to start my Early Childhood Education Degree with NBCC starting this fall.

Hi my name is Emily Smith. I am 24 years old. I was born in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia and moved to New Brunswick when I was 8. I completed my Bachelor of Arts at Saint Thomas University in 2016- double majoring in criminology and anthropology and double minoring in forensic anthropology and sociology.
I started working at Katie Bee’s in September of 2016. I found a love for teaching here and it’s become a passion. I teach the morning preschool as well as the younger after schoolers. My favorite part about my job is that every day brings something new- no two days are the same.
I love knowing that my job is to help children achieve their full potential and strive for greatness. But, not only do I teach them, they teach me too. I learn so much from each and every kid that I have the pleasure of teaching.
When I’m not at work you can find me searching out hiking trails, climbing mountains, testing out new recipes, or spending time with my family.
